The leaves of the ravintsara plant are distilled to create the essential oil. The fact that the plant grows in Madagascar gives it a different chemical composition and therefore entirely different properties from the camphor tree, which is the same plant but grows in other areas. Ravintsara essential oil is very close to mandravasarotra essential oil.
